In The Studio with Rachid Taha

April 27, 2009

I had a chance to engineer a session this week at Broken Radio studio (formerly Coast/Toast) with the legendary Rachid Taha and Hakim Hamadouche. The song we were tracking is a duet with Rachid and Nader DeAik and will be on Nader’s next CD. Big thanks to Matt and especially Carly at Broken Radio for all their help.

Here are a couple clips of of Rachid and Hakim in action:

Nader Deaik CD Released

October 24, 2008

Check out the new CD from Nader Deaik here! This a pretty awesome disc that involved a lot of hard work. We did most of the writing in my home studio and all of the tracking at Take Root with a lot of great musicians and engineers. Definitely a team effort. I got to play guitar, bass and piano and also did most of the drum programming and sequencing. Nader is starting to get worldwide airplay and has been doing some pretty high profile gigging lately. More info is available on Nader’s MySpace page.

New YouTube Channel

March 26, 2008

I’ve started a new YouTube channel for Making Music with OS X. For the next few months the focus will be expanding on subjects covered in Introducing Reason 4. The video I’ve just posted shows a cool way to use Reason 4 via ReWire to create loops in Ableton Live. I’ll also be posting direct links to higher quality versions of each movie for download soon.
